John 1:1-2

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” John 1:1-2 (NIV)

The theme at TCTC (Tennessee Christian teen convention) was “Say the Word”. Which, I’m not going to lie, I was skeptical on how well it would go considering its general vagueness, amongst other things. And I might say, I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed it, this verse especially.

Let’s be honest here. John was the most hippy Gospel. Come on, please read this verse again with the most hippy Californian surfer dude voice as possible.

Okay, I think we know John wrote God’s story in this beautiful poetry. In my Bible, it describes him as the most theological, which is agreed.

All God had to do at the beginning of time was say a word, and BOOM. It happened. This word became flesh. It’s amazing to think how God was, is, and always will be everything; Therefore, God is the Word. In the beginning, it was only God and the Word, the Word was with God, because God was the Word. Confused yet?

Something else for students to take from it is that we, as Christians, must say the Word as well. God is the Word, so we must talk about God. Show that he is the Almighty King of Kings. It’s simple, all you have to do is confuse them with a righteous verse from the book of John in the best surfer dude accent you can.

Stay dreamy, constellation seekers.
